Hip-Hop Classic #43: Roots Manuva - Witness The Fitness (Chosen by Funkagenda)

The latest Hip-Hop Classic choice is our second UK entry thus far and comes courtesy of the one and only Roots Manuva. 'Witness The Fitness' was the lead single from Manuva's sophmore album 'Run Come Save Me', which was released in 2001 on Big Dada Records - the revolutionary track was produced by Lord Gosh and reached #45 in the UK singles chart. This song is seen by most as one of the UK's biggest Hip-Hop classics, and I can't disagree - check it out after the jump, along with some words from Funkagenda.
Funkagenda: "When this record came out, the production was revolutionary. I had never heard anything like it. The low fi drums, the acid square bass, the chip tune leads. It was unique. It's what I like to call one of my "Straight To The Floor" records. If a DJ drops this I will 100% sprint to the dancefloor and bust awkward dad style tremors + jerks..."
