Hip-Hop Classic #12: Craig Mack - Flava In Ya Ear (Bad Boy Remix) (Chosen by Zeon Mumbles)
'Flava In Ya Ear' is the lead single from Craig Mack's debut album, Project Funk da World, which was released in 1994 on Bad Boy Records. This remix of the single was the breakout appearance for The Notorious B.I.G., as well as one of the first solo appearances by Busta Rhymes after leaving Leaders Of The New School. The album was the second release on Bad Boy Records, following Biggie's all-time classic 'Ready To Die' by one week - propelled by the success of this (original) Platinum-selling single, 'Project Funk Da World' reached Gold status in 1995. Although it was successful and highly praised at the time of release, the album was massively overshadowed by RTD, and Mr. Mack quickly lost his public image, releasing only one other album, the commercially unsuccessful 'Operation: Get Down', in 1997. Oh well Craig, at least you have this one. Jam.
Zeon Mumbles: "This was one of the first Hip-Hop records that I fell in love with because of the production and the hard lyrics. Still love it now!"
