Hip-Hop Classic #25: LL Cool J - 4, 3, 2, 1 (Feat. Method Man, Redman, DMX & Canibus) (Chosen by Example)

'4, 3, 2, 1' is the second single from LL Cool J's seventh album, Phenomenon, which was released in 1997 on Def Jam Recordings. The track was produced by LL & Erick Sermon and samples 'Superrappin' by Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five. A remix was made with an additional verse from southern rapper, Master P - both the original song (minus Canibus) and the remix (with Canibus and Master P) had accompanying music videos. The song peaked at #75 on the Billboard Hot 100, #10 on the Hot Rap Singlea and #24 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. Definitely one of LL's strongest tracks in a highly under-rated back catalogue.
