Things have just heated up between Common & Drake, with the Chicago-born legend adding a diss verse to the Drake-featuring track from Rick Ross' latest mixtape. There's only gonna be one winner here; "Make no mistakes, I'm talkin bout Drake..."
Kano goes in over my favourite track from Common's 'The Dreamer/The Believer' for his latest mixtape, Jack Bauer 2.4, which dropped yesterday and continues his ridiculous level of work ethic. I loved the first installment of the Jack Bauer mixtape series, and was so pleased to hear another was on the way - thankfully it didn't disappoint. Easily one of the most talented MCs the UK has ever produced and KA just keeps on spoiling us. Celebrate and download the tape HERE.
Common performed in front of a sold out crowd at the House Of Blues last night and brought out musical legend Stevie Wonder to share a special moment with him on stage. Two of my favourite artists ever.
Today sees the release of Common's ninth studio album, The Dreamer/The Believer, so what better a time to show respect to No I.D., the man behind the boards, by looking at the samples used to create some of these stunning beats. After the jump you will find 8 samples and a link to download them all. A simply incredible album from one of the greatest Rapper/Producer duos of all-time. Get your copy HERE.
Common unleashes the visuals for my favourite track from his ninth studio album, The Dreamer/The Believer, which you can now pick up HERE. There is no such thing as an instant classic, but if there was, then this has all the elements to be just that. Amazing song, amazing album.
With the release of his ninth studio album just around the corner, what better a time to revisit one of Common's classics. 'Be' was the sixth album from the Chicago-born rapper and was released in 2005 on G.O.O.D. Music and Geffen Records. The album was primarily produced by fellow Chicagoan and G.O.O.D. Music label owner KanYe West - it peaked at #2 on the Billboard 200 album chart and was Common's second album to sell over 500,000 copies (over 800,000 copies sold). A classic in every sense of the word and some of the best Hip-Hop production of the 21st Century. Listen to two instrumentals below and pick up all 12 HERE. My favourite rapper of all-time.
AH YEAH! Here are two of my favourite tracks from Common's highly anticipated ninth studio album, The Dreamer/The Believer, which is set to be released December 20th on Warner Bros. After hearing 4 of the 12 tracks, and knowing No I.D. was behind the boards for the entire project, I had a feeling this was going to be pretty special, but it's exceeded all my expectations after just a handful of listens. Hip-Hop in its purest art form, from my favourite rapper of all-time and one of the greatest producers of all-time. Got nothing else to say about this, but just believe me when I say this album has definitely been worth the wait. Lonnie Lynn & Ernest Wilson have an untouchable chemistry.
After blessing us with three cuts from his forthcoming album, The Dreamer The Believer, Common has now let loose this beautiful piece of Hip-Hop, which features fellow G.O.O.D. Music signee John Legend. Safe to say this album is going to be pretty special - you can get your copy on December 20th.
Following the brilliant 'Ghetto Dreams' & 'Blue Sky', here is the amazing third single from Common's highly anticipated ninth studio album, The Dreamer The Believer, which is produced entirely by No I.D. Nothing else needs to be said about this, just listen. Pre-order HERE - December 20th.
Chicago-born rapper Common features on the lead single from bass player/producer Derrick Hodge's forthcoming album, Live Today, which is set to be released in early 2012. How excited are you for The Dreamer, The Believer?!
