Ahead of the US release (17th June) of his debut album, Sam Smith has unleashed a new version of 'Stay With Me', which features R&B legend Mary J. Blige. Over the weekend, 'In The Lonely' became the fastest selling album this year in the UK, selling 101,000 copies in its first week. Special.

While telling you all how talented Sam Smith is, at this point, seems to be an act of simply repeating what's already been said, after the singer-songwriter yesterday unveiled the third single to be taken from his highly anticipated debut album In The Lonely Hour, it looks as though I'm going to have to anyway. Entitled 'Leave Your Lover' the track is a heart felt ballad and quite simply one of the most beautiful pieces of music I've heard this year. Very few musicians can say they genuinely pour their complete heart and soul into the music they write, but after listening to this, it's clear Sam Smith does. Brits Critics Choice and with good reason.

One act that I have supported heavily over the past 12 months is Wilfred Giroux, who broke onto the scene with his incredible bootleg remix of an Estelle classic. His latest release comes in the form of an official remix for the second single from Sam Smith's debut album, which is dripping with early 90s MK dub vibes - that is the best compliment I can pay to any remix. Sam Smith's debut album The Lonely Hour isn't due out till May 26th, but today the Brits Critics' Choice winner announced he's teamed up with iTunes to make one track available for free a few months early.
